When din tai is quite far to drive and craving for , we go to Dumpling Hours. No matter what time of day or night, place is always busy. On a recent Tuesday night, we were quickly seated. Ordered the usual pan fried dumplings, xiao long bao, chrysanthemum tea, and tried the sesame ball dessert. Quick service and belly is nice and happy. So comforting on a cold winter night.

Ambiance 3/5 inside a bit small. Best seat high tops near window where dumplings are prepared Food Quality 4/5 Service 4/5 I had a green onion pancake, shrimp, pork and chive boiled dumplings and chrysanthemum hot tea. I love that chrysanthemum tea is offered in a full size tea pot, the texture of the boiled dumplings was perfect tender and yummy. The pancake was crispy, light and fresh. Sitting at the window, I noticed that quite a few of the dumplings were made elsewhere and arrived pre-packaged. These were tasty nevertheless. It would be nice if restaurant sold pre-packaged dumplings to go since they have them might result in added income. There was one person making soup dumplings fresh.

Excellent food and friendly service. The pork dumpling with sesame sauce and the shiu mai were both exceptionally good.

This place is a hidden gem in Walnut Creek! We ordered 红油抄手, 生煎包 and some noodles and all of it was really good and flavorful! The cucumber salad was also fresh and crisp. This will be a go to place for me in WC for sure.

Dumpling hours is a good dumpling restaurant. We were seated quickly. It was my first time but my friends told me how it works, I would ask if it's everyone's first time. (You scan a QR code and add things to your cart and they will bring it out to you. ) I don't eat pork ~ so I don't have flavor/taste review for the pork but my friends enjoy it! The chicken dumplings are good, even with the sauce I wish it was a little more flavor full but overall good. The string beans were yummy, they were soft and not crunchy, I prefer them with a slight crunch but also overall good. The jasmine tea was very refreshing and nice especially on a cold day It's a small restaurant but we were seated quick on a Sunday evening.

Dumpling Hours is located in Downtown Walnut Creek, off of one North Main. It might be easier to park on Locust somewhere and then walk your way over from there since parking on this street is usually meh, though, you're not exactly getting that much better off the other streets. It's as advertised, a dumplings place, but more accurately a bao place. They have everything from soup buns to pan fried buns to dumplings and other doughy delights you would typically find at a place such as this. They also have some of the very basics of additional dishes, such as noodles, and then the small eats appetizers on the side. Being in the downtown area, it's of course not cheap comparatively to not being in downtown, but priced about the same as what you could get elsewhere in this area that is just packed full with eating spots alike. The menu isn't huge or anything, but if you come to a place with dumplings in its name, let's just say the dumplings are enough. Service here was good, no complaints. Portions here are decent. The cucumber cold dish was good as usual, though, I do feel it could probably use a bit more garlic as this particular dish is usually swimming in chopped garlic that works the flavors into each piece, but it was pretty light here. The scallion noodles were pretty good. The noodle quality was just the right amount of doughy to chewiness ratio you're looking for in noodles. I do feel that there should have probably been something else in the noodles to kind of lighten that heavy soy based sauce it was drenched in, or to give it a bit more variety into the flavor profile. It was good, but not the best I've ever had. The onion pancake was serviceable. Not bad, not great. Now, the star of the hour was the soup dumplings, and I feel this place certainly has their soup dumplings down. They even have fancy dumpling soup spoons that some places have nowadays, such as 88 Bao Bao, but I do feel the size of the dumplings here are on the larger side compared to other spots, and of course, the soup in there is just aplenty, and will need to eat with caution using your designated soup spoon. It was delicious! Overall, Dumplings Hours is not a unique dumpling spot, as there's just so many of them here now in our area. However, I do feel they have one of the better soup dumplings out of the more than handful of places that you can get soup dumplings now in our area. The downside is that it's in the downtown area, not that I don't like the downtown area, but it just difficult to find parking at peak hours, and traffic is not going to be great. Additionally, the adjusted pricing to account for this area also does it no favors. But hey, beggars can't be choosers, and if you're in this area and in the mood for some soup dumplings, hit up Dumpling Hours.

I so happen to be at the Broadway Shopping Center close by, that I was intrigued by an IG post that the Dumpling Hours was voted in by my fellow elites as one of the Top list of places to eat in the Bay Area. I came around 6pm and this place was packed, with more customers coming in to join the waitlist. It was raining so the outside seating was unavailable, so I opted for Take Out. I am not fond of ordering through the QR code, the server happily took my order inside. The inside was small, I would say the place would comfortably fit about 30+ with more tables in the back. I ordered their signature 6pc Juicy Pan Fried Pork Buns and 8 Pc Pork Xiao Long Bao. I took about 20-25 mins wait, their baos are made on the spot. Although they were both uniquely delicious, I felt that it was a little too pricey for dimsum. Overall, great place, gotta try the Juicy Pan Fried Pork at least once.

I truly love this place. Came back after 3 years and it's like nothing changed. From the delicious hot and spicy xiao long bao to the juicy pan fried pork buns and the essential string beans sautéed in garlic sauce, everything tasted perfect and exactly as we remembered. We added an order of ginger and scallion noodles which we had surprisingly never tried before and I loved them. This is the first time we sat in the back of the restaurant. They have a surprising amount of seating and quick service. Also, to order your meal you scan the QR code in the table! Ps be careful eating the hot bao and buns, the soup is really hot!! Once you learn how to eat it properly, it's all so so good.
